Taking care of your jewelry

Taking Care of Silver

Sterling silver, like other precious metals, can oxidize with time. But properly maintained silver jewelry improves with age and develops a lush patina. Treat your silver well, care for it properly and it will reward you with a long life and a lustrous look.

Clean your silver jewelry with a mild soap and water solution, allowing the water to bead up, and then patting dry with a soft cloth. For more stubborn dirt, use jewelry cleaner designed for silver use.

Store your silver in a cool, dry place, preferably in a tarnish-preventive bag or wrapped in a soft piece of felt or cloth. Store pieces individually so that they donít knock together and scratch. Do not rub silver with anything other than a polishing cloth. Tissue paper or paper towels can cause scratches because of the fibers in these products.

Make sure your silver is not exposed to air and light during storage. This can cause silver to tarnish. And donít wear sterling silver in chlorinated water or when working with household chemicals.

Handmade and One of a kind Jewelry.

When buying handmade and one of a kind jewelry you have to consider the special care that these pieces require.
The rings and earrings in the FLOWERS collection are handmade made with precious stones that cannot be cleaned using any chemical product.

The rings should be cleaned with soap and water and then patting dry with a soft cloth. Do not try to scrub your pieces because this can result in scratching and damaging your jewelry.

The earrings do not require a lot of cleaning since most of the piece are gemstones. These handmade earrings are very delicate pieces that should not be twisted or bended and they MUST be handled with care. The 18K gold wire from which the gemstones hang from can brake if not handled with care.

Sleeping Beauty Turquoise care

Handle your turquoise jewelry carefully to avoid scratching it. Don't store turquoise with harder gemstones or other materials that might rub against it and cause damage.

Keep turquoise away from high heat and chemicals such as oils, perfumes, and household cleaners. Even stabilized turquoise can be affected by a constant bombardment of chemicals.

Clean your turquoise in warm, sudsy water and dry it immediately with a soft cloth. Avoid commercial jewelry cleansers.
Dropping or mishandling your turquoise may result in breaking.

We recommend storing your new jewelry in your VICTORIA ROIG box to keep it nice and clean and to avoid scratching and in the case of silver to avoid oxidation.
